SPIDERsmart Classroom Movement Breaks
With an abundance of data linking physical activity to cognition and learning, classroom teachers are looking for quick, easy, in-classroom exercise strategies to engage kids physically so they can perform mentally. Research demonstrates that frequent movement breaks throughout the day are a viable solution for increasing physical activity, improving fitness variables, and decreasing obesity. Engaged, fit, and healthy kids are better, more focused learners!
SPIDERfit gets kids moving through short classroom movement and exercise breaks. Each movement break lasts less than two minutes! SPIDERsmart movement breaks require right/left brain coordination and increase the heart rate – while keeping classroom space and developmental ability in mind. SPIDERsmart breaks are strategically designed to improve classroom engagement through movement. The exercises are organized into mini-circuits, allowing teachers to simply follow along with a timer and adapt the exercises to fit time constraints. Most of the circuits do not require special equipment.
SPIDERfit gives kids access to movement in every environment to create a culture of activity amongst today’s youth, in which their brains and bodies are integrated in health.
